VP of Revenue Cycle, Health Connect America
Nancy Hummel spent most of her career as an engineer working in various types of manufacturing operations, including furniture, locks and keys, plastics, and industrial machinery. In the 2000s, she worked as an International Logistics Manager and an Industrial Engineer with Steelcase International. However, in 2009, the company made the decision to move its North Carolina operations to Mexico.
In response, Nancy decided to investigate other opportunities and soon began her second career at LabCorp as a Billing Manager. Thanks to her experience at Steelcase, she possessed a deep knowledge of LEAN principles, which was advantageous as LabCorp has just begun its own LEAN journey. Since then, Nancy has honed her RCM experiences through laboratory billing, EMS billing, physician billing, hospital and medical clinic billing, reproductive medicine, drug testing, and therapeutic inpatient and outpatient services billing.
Nancy graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from High Point University in 2010. In 2012, she returned to High Point, earning a master’s degree in business administration.
